Round 35 Reveals – Black

July 9, 2022

Black

There’s something about black. You feel hidden away in it.
— Georgia O’Keeffe

Is black a color or a hue? Depending on if we’re talking about light or pigment, black can be all colors or the absence of color.

Black is mysterious – it has many meanings within the same culture, and even more globally. It can be elegant and luxurious or a symbol of mourning. Areas of Africa consider it a symbol of wisdom and maturity, while in India it can represent laziness or indifference. What do you think of when thinking of the color black?

What fun. I love the diversity of interpretation.
