Nat Weaver
Nat Weaver is a native Missourian living just outside St. Louis. He started writing at a very early age but took years to get good at it. After writing short stories for years, and thinking he’d never have what it took to write novels due to undiagnosed bipolar, he committed himself to starting the Mercedes Masterson Detective Stories series and wrote Sweet Sixteen Killer. Something he never would have been able to achieve without treatment of his mental health: a combination of medication, therapy, and more.
In addition to writing books, Nat has also put his experience and skill in cinematography to good use by directing indie films and tv shows.
He is currently a stay-at-home dad to a teenager and full-time student at Southern New Hampshire University where he is majoring in English Language and Literature.
Laurie Aiello
Laurie Aiello has loved photography since her first darkroom experiences in Junior High and High-school. She has been mostly self-taught, with a few weekend classes until Covid when she jumped into the courses at the local community college and has since earned her AA in Art Photography. She is continuing to take classes in film photography, exploring medium and large format along with learning a variety of printing techniques. She is also currently a teaching assistant in the Studio-lighting class working with people from all ages. As a freelance photographer, she does event photography for various non-profits in her community, photography for a local magazine, portrait sessions, sports photography, and horse events but her passion is mostly capturing nature along the ocean and forest community on the central coast of California. While her focus is often learning technical aspects of the various forms of digital and film photography, she is also trying to work on her own creativity and storytelling through images.
One of the best aspects of photography has been becoming part of inspiring communities of creative people. She was on the OpenShow Santa Cruz team that curated and facilitated in-person and online (during Covid) photography showcases in which selected photographers of different levels could present a series of their images and discuss them with an audience of other photographers. Because it was more of a dialogue than straight presentation, the events were unpredictable and often inspiring in ways that you don’t get from a gallery show. OpenShow is a global group dedicated to helping photographers get their work seen in various countries and across the US.
The Scavenger Hunt is yet another fun community that Lora Lee introduced her to in round 34. It was so much fun that she has participated in every round since. Much to her surprise she was the overall winner in Round 38, so now she is excited to see what’s it’s like to participate as a judge.
Robin Griggs Wood
Robin Griggs Wood is a photographer, multimedia artist, and creative mentor and our resident judge at the Photography Scavenger Hunt. Robin is adept at photography, compositing, post-processing and traditional media—including acrylic, oils, watercolor, inks and much more.
She has been championing “The Myth of Talent” as well as mentoring and helping people find their creative selves for close to 15 years.

Jim Tang
Jim Tang is a storm chaser and a landscape photographer currently residing in Oklahoma City, OK, having previously resided in Denver, CO and San Francisco, CA. He was the Storm Photographer of the Year in 2022 in the Storm Photo Contest, and his work has been featured in media outlets such as NBC News and FOX weather. When he is not chasing storms he is busy coding personal projects for fun and for his profession and continuing to learn how to better forecast the weather.
